Hello. I'm Beth Carroll. Welcome to New Hampshire Outlook. There are lots of choices on television, hundreds, in fact. If given the opportunity would you watch Al-Jazeera? The Arab television network has made headlines for its graphic presentations of the conflicts in the Middle East even airing clips from terrorist Osama bin Laden. Author Mohammed el-Nawaway says Al-Jazeera is making an important contribution to media around the world. He recently spoke at the Institutue of Politics at St. Anselm College in Manchester. He sat down before his presentation to speak with Outlook's Richard Ager about his book, "Al-Jazeera: The Story of the Network that is Rattling Governments and Redefining Modern Journalism." |

It was all about poetry recently at the State House as eleven high school students from across the state competed in the final round of the "Poetry Out Loud" contest. It's a national program that encourages students to memorize and perform poems to help them master public speaking skills, build self-confidence and learn about their literary heritage. For the competition each student prepared three poems to be recited before an audience and panel of judges in Reps Hall for a shot at attending the national Poetry Out Loud competition. Outlook's Chip Neal has the story. |

As the state champion, Bow High School's Teal Van Dyck received 200-dollars and an all expense paid trip to Washington D.C. to take part in the national finals on May 16th. The national champion will receive a 20-thousand dollar college scholarship. |
